One of many Nashville Greenway trailheads.

Whether you prefer to travel on foot, by bike, scooter or even unicycle, Nashville’s Greenway Trail System provides the best option for a day-trip that is safe, nearby and family-friendly. The Greenway as come a long way in the past few years as we’ve seen the broken-up segments of paved trails in neighborhoods become connected, creating the continuous system that allows commuters or leisure hikers to get from J. Percy Priest Dam all the way to Downtown Nashvillle.  All in, the trail adds up to about 52 miles and growing.  The grand plan calls for over 300 miles of trails, including surface streets and multi-use trails, according to Greenways for Nashville, a “not-for profit member organization raising awareness of and private support for Nashville’s greenways initiative.”
